Skill360 Australia is proud to be the Naming Rights Sponsor of the Skill360 Northern Pride Rugby League Team which competes in the Queensland Rugby League Competition.  Our support for the Team is an excellent example of partnering with an organisation that aligns with our values of strengthening local communities.

Take Pride Program

The Skill360 Northern Pride has always been very mindful of the fact that it is a community based club that was established to provide pathways for local rugby league players to represent their region, play in top level competition, and provide a pathway to the NRL. Due to the heavy reliance upon community support for the continued success of the club both on field and off, the Skill360 Northern Pride is passionate about ‘putting back’ into the community.

In order to do this the Skill360 Northern Pride has developed the Take Pride Program. Initially focussed upon assisting in the development of junior rugby league players, the Program identified an opportunity to utilise the Northern Pride’s popularity in far north Queensland to reach students and address the many issues facing today’s society. After discussion with many of the region’s key stakeholders, including education, police, health, and community groups, the Program engaged the help of industry professionals to tailor specific presentations on the following:

  • Nutrition
  • Drug and Alcohol Awareness
  • Drugs in Sport
  • Anti-Violence
  • Employment Readiness

Through the use of positive role models associated with the Skill360 Northern Pride, either as players or coaching staff, the Take Pride Program has been able to effectively engage students and address a range of issues.

Through its close links with the Skill360 Northern Pride, the Take Pride Program is in a position to provide the people of far north Queensland with access to their sporting heroes via community activities, charity events, special appearances and other fundraising activities as requested. Geographically, the Take Pride Program has a far reaching attraction, implementing its programs as far south as Townsville, west to Mount Isa, north to the outer islands of the Torres Strait, and everywhere in between.
